Views on his legacy can be grouped into three main categories:
 
#Some believe him to be Elijah the Prophet in fulfillment of Malachi 4:5.  There are two main groups of followers, although they are refer to themselves as followers of [[The Message|the Message of the Hour]].  The first view his every word as infallible, while the second only accept his "Thus Saith The Lord" teachings as infallible.
#Some view him as a great evangelist and gifted healer who strayed from Christian orthodoxy in the 1950's and 60's. 
#Some view him as a charlatan who was either willfully deceptive or had untreated mental health concerns.
